impact
I strive to impact the lives of children and their families by helping them communicate.
Our ability to communicate is the key tool to help us feel connected and understood.

While it is completely normal to make mistakes when learning something new, it is different when progress is hindered by a bigger issue or is taking longer than you expected.
If you have concerns about how your child is expressing their thoughts, pronouncing sounds, understanding your words, or interacting with others, I am here to help.

I have over 20 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist, and I believe that each child deserves customized support based on their specific needs and learning styles.
what is a speech-language pathologist
As stated by the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA), Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are healthcare professionals with clinical training and educational background in speech production, language understanding and expression, stuttering, voice health, and swallowing.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, my job is to assess, diagnose and treat speech and language disorders/delays. Together, we will develop goals to help your child reach their communication potential.
how do I know when to seek a
Speech-Language Pathologist?
Most often parents will notice small challenges or differences in their child’s speech and language development. At times, other caregivers, teachers, doctors, or specialists may also notice challenges.

Perhaps you are having difficulty understanding your child’s words or certain sounds. Maybe your child is having difficulty following along at school. Or perhaps your child has received a diagnosis and you are wondering if their communication and social development may also be involved.

The best place to start is by reaching out to a Speech-Language Pathologist to discuss your concerns. Depending on your child’s age and developmental history, their challenges may be completely normal. For some however, the help of a professional Speech-Language Pathologist may be required.
therapy should be comfortable
Children learn best when they feel safe, respected, and comfortable in their surroundings. I am happy to meet at your home where your child feels most at ease.
your time is valuable

Coming from a small town, I understand how professional services can be difficult to access in rural communities. I also understand that driving the distance to appointments is not always the easiest solution for families.

I offer you the comfort and convenience of meeting in your home so you can spend your time focusing on your child’s progress.
