about therapy
Therapy sessions are designed to be fun and engaging for your child. I start by creating an enjoyable atmosphere through play, keeping your child’s favourite interests in mind. I then incorporate your child’s specific speech and/or language goals into these activities.

I encourage parent participation during all my sessions, and I welcome questions every step of the way. Together we can build a partnership for the success of your child’s therapy.
Hi, I'm Melanie
I grew up in a rural community in southwestern Ontario, raised on a farm. Since then, life for me has always been rooted in small town values. Family. Work. Support. Encouragement. Helping others was a trait instilled in me from a young age and I always knew that I wanted a career in the helping profession.

I completed my Undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario in 1998. Following this, I travelled west and completed my Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Alberta in 2000. I fell in love with Alberta and made Calgary my home for the next 19 years. In 2019, my husband and I felt it was time for a quieter, slower pace of life and moved to Okotoks. Our only regret is that we didn’t do it sooner!

One of my favourite pastimes is exploring the many hidden gems that Okotoks and the Foothills region has to offer. Whether it’s taking in a Dawg’s baseball game, trying my hand at axe throwing, or having coffee with a friend at a local coffee shop, I love supporting all things local!

I’m delighted to live in Okotoks and, as part of this thriving community, I look forward to supporting and encouraging your family with my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist!
